The First Level Academic Master in "Eco design, Circular economy & Social Responsibility" intends to train "eco-designers", new professional figures able to project the life cycle of a product in order to prevent and reduce its impact on the environment, through the application of specific design methods, the use of eco-innovative materials and the use of design criteria guided by the principles of environmental sustainability

DESCRIZIONE
The First level Academic Master in “Eco design, Circular economy & Social Responsibility” intends to train “eco-designers”, that is new professional figures who are able to project the life cycle of a product in order to prevent and reduce its impact on environment, through the application of specific design methods, the use of eco-innovative materials and the use of design criteria guided by the principles of environmental sustainability. Developing environmentally and socially sustainable products is one of the main goals of the 21st century design culture. Ecodesign and circular economy are two key elements of a sustainable economic model. A design based on the efficient use of resources and materials, in fact, allows not only to reduce the environmental impact linked to production, but also contributes to reduce the amount of waste generated, intervening on the durability, repairability, possibility of updating and recyclability of the products themselves. A good design really therefore places the principles of the circular economy at the center. The Master offers in-depth knowledge on the most recent national and international environmental policies and regulations relating to product eco-innovation, and provides specialized, scientific-cultural and technical-operational skills for the design and development of eco-sustainable products. The main objective of the Master is to provide students with a competitive and strategic technical-scientific preparation in the field of design for environmental sustainability, which facilitates their insertion, as designers, consultants or freelancers, in the various business and professional realities, both in the public and private sectors, through the acquisition of the necessary skills to increase the environmental performance of products and to integrate the design criteria of Eco-design in the traditional process of designing and developing new products.
COURSE PROFILE

SKILLS
At the end of the Fist Level Academic Master in Ecodesign – Circular Economy & Social Responsibility, the student will have acquired systemic skills, will be able to carry out eco-innovating projects with an innovative approach and a broad vision of the entire production system, which is attentive to the humanistic components of the project.
INTERNSHIP
At the end of the course, the internship and job placement office of the Pantheon Design & Technology Institute will activate a training internship at one of the partner companies. The period of insertion in the company is a valuable tool to facilitate entry into the job market: an opportunity to learn, be known and be appreciated through business practice.
COURSE PROGRAM
PROGRAM
1500 HOURS
Ecodesign
The module aims to provide transversal skills for the design and development of eco-sustainable products, interior spaces and classified groups. Both theoretical issues and pure design aspects will be tackled, thanks to the guidance of expert planners and designers who will confront all aspects from matter: from executive detail to prototyping.
TOPICS
- Ecodesign fundamentals
- Regulatory framework
- Communicate the Ecodesign
- Green Design & Strategies (plant systems and technologies) Part 1 and Part
- Ecodesign in the management and planning of commercial activities
WORKSHOP
- Design of spaces, elements and services of a business in a sustainable way
- Infographics for the environment
Project culture
The module provides a focus on understanding and interpreting the design of the architectural space and the product, that should be understood as entities that interact with each other in a transversal way.
ARGOMENTI TOPICS
- Sustainability and environmental comfort
- The house of the future
- The construction site of the future
- The project as a system
- Sustainability, company philosophy and I.O.T
- Methodological tools for the analysis of the industrial product
- Examples of analysis of industrial products
- Analysis of an industrial product
New materials technology
The course will deepen the study of materials, from a theoretical-artistic point of view and from the specific techniques, with particular attention to information on the toxicity, the relative precautions and the rules to be followed. It will focus on knowing and understanding both the properties and the technical-expressive potential of the materials, to help both research and experimentation.
ARGOMENTI TOPICS
- Indoor materials
- Outdoor materials
- I.O.T.
Natural, artificial and composite materials:
- Production and processing of materials
- Properties of materials
- Examples of analysis of industrial products
- The life of materials
Product design
Students will be provided with design tools and skills based on a Human Centered methodology, which focuses on the study of people’s needs and characteristics.
ARGOMENTI Topics
- Industrial production technologies
- Raw materials, production scraps for the project
- LCA method
- The phases of the industrial project
- Case studies of product design
- Reuse & design: designing for reuse
WORKSHOP
Design of an industrial product
Urban Regeneration
The module focuses on understanding the cultural, social and environmental changes taking place, which are revolutionizing the scenarios of urban transformation. To better prepare future designers, architects and professionals in the sector, all the design processes will be addressed: from the ideation of the concept to the final representation of the drawings.
ARGOMENTI TOPICS
Urban regeneration
- Foundations of urban regeneration
- Contemporary strategies and processes of space transformation
Urban regeneration
- Ecology and aesthetics in contemporary urban spaces
- Elements of furnishing
Renewable energies
- Outdoor design & sustainability
- Urban strategies & I.O.T.
- Selection of the plant elements of the project based on perceptual and maintenance needs
PROFESSIONAL FOCUS
Outdoor design & sustainability told by an active figure in the field through the display of their work in detail
WORKSHOP
Design with related fittings and furnishings of public and private outdoor spaces, process management, graphic representation of sustainable systems and strategies, study of construction details up to the drafting of the metric calculation
Information technologies
The goal of the module is to provide designers with technologically advanced tools to design, test and prototype their projects. For this reason, there will be a focus on numerous tools for the visualization and spatial verification of design ideas, the production of drawings and the representation of information through the use of databases and scientific data.
The lessons range from environmental and cost analysis to design to architectural drawing.
